O'Fallon's Herndon Products Acquires West Coast Company

This is the first acquisition for Herndon Products, which has been headquartered in O'Fallon since 2003. Earlier in 2012, the company was awarded several government contracts.

Herndon Products, Inc. acquired Intercoastal, Inc. in late November, creating a new company: Intercoastal, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Herndon Products.

Herndon Products has achieved a compounded growth rate in excess of 50% since its launch in 2003, with an emphasis in defense and aerospace industry supply chain management solutions. The acquisition of Intercoastal brings an emphasis in the commercial side of aviation supply chain – bolstering a key future growth area for Herndon Products.

“Herndon Products was seeking a strong company to add to our bench, and Intercoastal aligned perfectly with our expansion strategy,” Scott Herndon, President and Chief Executive Officer stated. “In this marketplace, relationships matter, and Intercoastal brings twelve new authorized distributorship lines to the Herndon Products portfolio of strong suppliers, including 3V Fasteners, Alcoa, Allfast, Lisi–Monadnock, Federal Manufacturing and Shurlok, to name a few. Our geographic reach also improves with this acquisition. We now service our customers from four distribution centers across the country that are geographically aligned with our customer’s needs.”

Integration of the companies has begun already. The intent is to leverage the increased scale and collective capabilities of both companies to better serve customers. Currently, teams are focused on upgrading the computerized inventory and forecasting systems of Intercoastal with Herndon’s proprietary system. No other major changes are anticipated at this time.

Founded in 1968 in Kent, Washington, Intercoastal employs a dedicated team that will stay with the company. Randie Cadwell, the former President of Intercoastal, will lead the team in Washington as Vice President and General Manager.

Dan Rodrigues, Chief Operating Officer for Herndon Products, led the acquisition efforts with the assistance of several St. Louis companies including Bryan Cave, legal; Rubin Brown, accounting; Huntleigh McGehee, insurance; and Regions Bank, financing. HCI Equity furthered its investment in Herndon Products, following an initial step taken three years ago.

Good question and one that has been asked many times. It seems all they do is tear buildings downRead More and leave empty lots. I've lived in O'Fallon all my life and it is sad to see. I would like to see something like St.Charles has, with small diners, craft and antique stores. A small walking path through the area would be awesome and something people could enjoy. Renovating the historical Krekel Home into a museum also needs to be done.

I rest my case that there are nearly not enough comments on articles that we read in the Patch...IRead More asked for a comment, got no comment.

I agree Jim. I am one of those who do comment and I do wish that more people would. I guess thatRead More is why our country is in the shape it is in. Not enough people that have minds of their own.

This is an important opportunity for all residents who want to have input on Civic Park and theRead More changes that they want to see now that Civic Hall is gone. The men and women of the city council and parks department who are making these decisions need to hear from us.

She's on vacation at the moment. When she returns she'll still be here, but in a different role.Read More Instead of just working with O'Fallon, she'll be working with multiple Patch sites across St. Louis. While she's doing other things, Tammy Duncan and I will be posting often around here. Basically Jordan is still very much involved, but she just won't be writing as many stories.

Joe Barker (Editor) June 3, 2013 at 09:58 am
@ Jim Pepper -- No word yet. Most of the stories came over just fine, but the stories from earlyRead More last week seem to be stuck. All I know is they are working on it.
