Is It an Affair?

I think men see extra-marital affairs differently than women do.  A man will flirt and kid around with a girl with no intention of pursuing her.  Women do the same thing.  They might smile and bat their eyes at a cute waiter while out at girl's night, just for the fun of it.

Then comes the internet.  Social media sites like Facebook have given people the opportunity to meet new people and look-up old flames from high school or college.  This takes things up a notch because it's easy to sit behind a computer screen and share intimate details with another person who is somewhere else in the country, or world for that matter.

If a man begins to share more and more time with a woman he met on Facebook and shares personal/private information with the woman, he may develop feelings for her.  Of course he may never meet her so he may not see the harm in all of this.

Ask his wife if what he's doing is wrong and she'll tell you he is having an affair.  The man may concede it's more of an "emotional affair" but not a real affair because he hasn't slept with the woman.  But the wife won't buy it.  In her mind, any time spent with another woman is less time spent with her.

So guys, if you are married and spending time on the internet talking to someone of the opposite sex and the conversations start to get romantic or personal, in the eyes of your wife, you are having affair.  It's harmful, hurtful, and should have never happened in the first place.
