5/5 Weekly Weather Summary and Outlook

Warmer weather returns this week along with a chance for storms, please be weather aware.

This past week turned out as expected, although just a touch warmer than anticipated early in the week. Our high for the week was 88° and our low was a chilly 38°, our rain gauge tipped the scales at 2.8 inches over the past seven days.  The rivers are on the rise again and look to crest around mid week at this time.

Our outlook brings mild temperatures after today, daytime highs should be in the 70’s most of the week, we may dip back into the 60’s late week, time will tell.  Monday morning looks to drop into the upper 40’s, after that I am expecting low/mid 50’s when leaving for work each day.  Light rain will continue today with a slight chance of rain on Monday, we get a couple dry days then showers and storms look to return Thursday with a chance they could hang around through Saturday.

With storms back in the forecast later in the week and everyone wanting to get outside, please be weather aware. Remember if you can hear thunder you should be inside, wait 30 minutes after the last rumble until you head out again.  Most people injured by lightning were attempting to seek shelter when the strike occurred, they  just waited too long.
