O'Fallon Firefighters Raise $3,761 for Senior Center

Proceeds will be used by the center to purchase new fitness equipment and replace dated equipment that is not suitable for seniors.

The (OFCO) sponsored a mouse race to benefit the on March 30.

Proceeds will be used by the senior center to purchase new fitness equipment and replace dated equipment that is not suitable for seniors. OFCO Chairman Dave O’Leary said $3,761 was raised from the race, silent auction, raffles and grab bags.

O'Leary said bets were placed on mice running on a wooden track provided by Party Downs Entertainment of Wright City. An event program was also provided, listing the names of all the local sponsors, including the River City Rascals, , and much more. Nearly 200 people were in attendance at this exciting night out held at the O’Fallon Senior Center.

The OFCO provides fundraising, donations and manpower to citizens and organizations in need within the O’Fallon Fire District boundaries. The membership consists of 48 career members of the O’Fallon Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 2665.

The career firefighting staff were all originally volunteer firefighters from the O’Fallon Community before the huge growth of the 1990’s. These men and women are committed to their community both on and off duty by helping those in need all year long.

In the past the OFCO have held fundraisers for The Center for Autism and held pizza nights at the Salvation Army location in O’Fallon. They have also held fishing days with the residents of Delmar Gardens at Busch Wildlife.
