Volunteer Opportunities: Help with Saint Charles Oktoberfest

Volunteer Recognition Consultant

The Gateway Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is looking for a volunteer recognition senior consultant who can collaborate with the volunteer community outreach coordinator to recognize volunteers. This volunteer would purchase supplies for the volunteer cabinet including popcorn, chips, fruit snacks and candy, assist with recognition events, call volunteers to thank them for their time, and acquire feedback, assist with volunteer management at fundraising events. Front Desk Volunteer

The Gateway Area Chapter of the National MS Society is looking for a front desk volunteer to help at their headquarters at 1867 Lackland Hill Parkway in St. Louis, MO. The person would transfer calls to the appropriate person, answer questions, and assist in other ways. Learn more here.

Help with Saint Charles Oktoberfest 

Saint Charles Oktoberfest is looking for volunteers Sept. 28, 29 and 30. More than 200 volunteers are needed to produce the event. Volunteers must be 16 or accompanied by an adult. As a volunteer, you receive an Oktoberfest volunteer tshirt, free food and drink vouchers. For more information, contact volunteer@saintcharlesoktoberfest.com.

Raise a Puppy for Support Dogs

Support Dogs, Inc. is looking for volunteers to help raise an Assistance dog for someone with mobility challenges, post traumatic stress disorder, or who is hard of hearing. Families would have a labrador or golden retriever puppy in their homes until the puppy is old enough to undergo training. Contact Leslie Kluge, Volunteer Coordinator 314-997-2325 to learn more.

Visit Residents in Nursing Homes

Senior Connections looks for kind and caring people to visit residents in nursing homes who have no visitors. Volunteers must commit to one hour a week for one year. They will receive two four-hour training sessions and then be assigned to a facility near where they live. It will be one of the most joyful and heartwarming experiences of your life. Participate in a Book Club with Disabled Adults

St. Louis Arc and the Next Chapter Book Club are looking for adults to participate in a book club that meets at Barnes and Noble in St. Peters on Thursdays for an hour.
