Volunteer Opportunities Sept. 10-16 with 608 SERVE Week

Serve the Saint Charles community through a variety opportunities described here during 608 SERVE Week.

Volunteer in St. Charles County and make a difference. With the 608 SERVE Week, the St. Charles Patch and Church of the Shepherd are offering endless opportunities for you to get involved. And it all starts, next week, Sept. 10 - 16.

Pick a day and event that works for you from our offerings listed here or add your own service project to log your hours toward the collective 608 service hour goal for this week.

St. Charles Crisis Nursery
Help with dinner, playtime and bedtime for some of our youngest lives in need. The Crisis Nursery provides care for children birth through 12 years of age for those in need of immediate or emergency care. This non-profit works to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing short-term, emergency shelter for children. To volunteer, you must be 16+.  Sign up to help!

Emmaus House: St. Charles
Emmaus provides homes and programming for individuals with developmental disabilities. 608 SERVE Week volunteers will be able to assist with a birthday party event, football crafting activity and a movie night. You may be setting up, cleaning up or assisting participants in these interactive experiences for the residents. Sign up to help!

Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, St. Charles
Assist area persons in need through the rewarding experience of serving supper at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. Here you can help with cleaning, serving and providing support to the existing staff over the dinner hours. Volunteers must be 18+ and wear close-toed shoes, long pants and shirts with sleeves. Sign up to help!

Oasis Food Pantry
This hub for local residents in need provides food and other household items for individuals and families in the St. Charles community. Serving on this Saturday 608 SERVE Week team, volunteers will clean and organize the facility in under two hours that supports the daily operations of the pantry. Close-toed shoes are required. Sign up to help!

Lunches
Support our area rescue and public service teams by assisting with packing and deliverying lunches for Saint Charles County fire and rescue teams. Volunteers will prepare and pack meals at Church of the Shepherd and deliver to area fire houses. All ages are encouraged to assist. Hair must be tied back. Gloves and food saftey materials will be provided. Sign up to help!

Five Acres Animal Shelter
Serve cats and dogs in the Saint Charles animal shelter by cleaning cages and helping to walk and play with the animals. A short orientation will begin the volunteer time with this organization before time spent cleaning with the animals. Volunteers must be 13+, wear long pants and close-toed shoes. Sign up to help!
