Whiz Kids: Junior Jaguar Cheerleaders Adopt a Family For the Holidays

O'Fallon Patch features local kids doing great things.

The eighth grade Jaguar Cheerleaders decided to give back this holiday season, by shopping for a family in need.

The squad picked out clothing and a fun item to purchase and deliver to the St Charles Crisis Center on Monday, Dec. 12. The Crisis Center staff gave the girls a tour and the girls had the opportunity to meet a few children and perform some

Christine Anderson is a team mom who nominated the squad for O'Fallon Patch's Whiz Kids. She said the cheerleaders won’t get to meet the family they adopted, but are thankful they were able to help out in their community.

"This was a humbling experience for not only the cheerleaders, but also to the parents that tagged along hoping to spread a little holiday joy," Anderson said. "We all can make a difference and can change a life, it doesn’t have to be a big donation or a corporation to make a change. Positive generosity this holiday season can be done by one person or by 17 cheerleaders who realize now that a home filled with a loving family is really the best gift we can give ourselves!"
