James Michael Helderle, 21, of St. Charles, was convicted by a St. Charles County jury last week of first degree burglary, forcible sodomy, felonious restraint and armed criminal action in a case involving an O'Fallon women last December. READ MORE: O'Fallon Police Interrupt Burglary, Sexual Assault Helderle was an employee of CUI Cable prior to the assault and had performed services at the victim's apartment on Dec. 3. On Dec. 4, he was terminated for texting the victim for a date. On Dec. 5, Helderle entered the 24-year-old O'Fallon woman's apartment, threatened her with a knife and assaulted her. The crash took place just before 4 p.m. on Interstate 70 in St. Peters.
Three people were injured in a three-car crash Thursday afternoon in St. Peters. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two cars were stopped for traffic ahead on westbound Interstate 70 just east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive just before 4 p.m.. A third vehicle, a 2011 Ford F-250 driven by Gary Sexton, 51, of St. Peters, failed to stop and struck the rear of another vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet F-150 driven by James R. Todd, 27, of O'Fallon. The impact of the crash caused Todd's truck to collide with the first car, a 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Timothy S. Jackson, 22, of St. Charles. Tamara, Thank you for posting the news story. You are helping to fulfill one of the missions of VAWA to spread awareness of domestic and sexual violence against women. We have tough laws in place to protect women but we are still in the educating phase of making the public aware of the reality, prevalence, and dynamics of violence against women.
