Update: O'Fallon Man Sentenced to 6 Years For Arson

The fire in the 600 block of Castlebrook Drive in O'Fallon started Jan. 31.

An O'Fallon man was sentenced to six years in prison for for setting a fire that destroyed his home on in January 2012, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  O'Fallon Patch previously reported, O'Fallon Police responded to a call about a house fire in the 600 block of Castlebrook Drive at 9:42 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31.  No one was inside the home during the fire and no injuries were reported. The O'Fallon and Cottleville fire protection districts and Central County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.  Timothy Copeland, 52, O'Fallon pleaded guilty in St. Charles County Circuit Court July 16 to second-degree arson. O'Fallon Man Pleads Guilty to Setting Fire to His Home

The fire in the 600 block of Castlebrook Drive in O'Fallon started Jan. 31.

An O’Fallon man pleaded guilty in St. Charles County Circuit Court July 16 to second-degree arson. Timothy Copeland, 52, admitted setting fire to his O’Fallon home in the 600 block of Castlebrook Drive on Jan. 31. Sentencing was set for Sept.  17. Judge Jon A. Cunningham will hand down the sentence. No one was inside the home during the fire and no injuries were reported. The O'Fallon and Cottleville fire protection districts and Central County Fire and Rescue responded to the fire. Firefighters said the home was extensively damaged. O'Fallon Man Charged With Setting His Own House on Fire

John Walter Johnson, 51, is being charged with lighting his house on fire at 159 Abington Dr. Sunday morning.

An 51-year-old O'Fallon man is being charged with arson after he allegedly set his house ablaze over the weekend, STLtoday.com is reporting. According to the story, John Walter Johnson, of O'Fallon, admitted to pouring gasoline on clothes and lighting a match inside his home after an arguement with his wife on Sunday morning. From the article:  (Johnson) admitted to authorities that he started the fire and did so in order to go to jail, because of a recent argument with his wife ... A witness saw Johnson running from the house and then smoke coming from it shortly afterwards, court documents say. Update: O'Fallon Man Charged With Arson

Timothy Copeland, 52, of O'Fallon, was charged Wednesday.

An O'Fallon man is facing charges for setting a fire that destroyed his home on Tuesday morning.  O'Fallon Police responded to a call about a house fire in the 600 block of Castlebrook Drive at 9:42 a.m. on Tuesday. No one was inside the home and no injuries were reported.  Police say an investigation revealed 52-year-old Timothy Copeland caused extensive damage by setting his house on fire.  Copeland is charged with second degree arson and his bond is set at $50,000. O'Fallon Police Officer Diana Damke said no other details about the investigation are being released at this time.

One Killed After O'Fallon Man Leads Police Chase

Police say the chase began after a call regarding a 29-year-old O'Fallon man attempting to set his step-father on fire.

A Caruthersville police officer is dead after an early morning police chase beginning in O'Fallon.  O'Fallon Police say they received a call around 9:30 p.m. on Monday to the 2000 block of Williamstown Drive, where a 29-year-old man reportedly set a fire in the garage and attempted to set his step-father on fire.  The suspect lead police on a chase that ended in Caruthersville when he crashed. According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Officer Evan Burns, 28, was killed in the collision.  O'Fallon Police say the suspect was taken into custody and the department will purse charges with the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.  According to KSDK News Channel 5, the suspect was wanted on charges of arson, first degree assault and …
