Fees for Fort Zumwalt 2011 Outdoor Education Program to Increase
New charges to help cover rising costs.
Students who participate in Fort Zumwalt School District's outdoor education program can expect to be charged a bit more in 2011. The district's board of education approved the increase at their regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 20, however, in the same motion the board also approved a decrease in the participation fee for students in the free and reduced lunch program. Mike Clemens said that the decrease was recommended with the hope that more of those students would choose to participate in the outdoor education program. Clemens, the district's former assistant superintendent-administrative services who retired this past June, works part-time for the district helping out with the program.
