The meeting will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, at the Lake Saint Louis Community Clubhouse, 100 Cognac Court, Lake St. Louis.  The quarterly meetings are part of a region-wide effort to coordinate plans for housing, transportation, and environmental and economic development. Gala Brings Art, Wine and Brew to City Hall

O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce's 15th annual Gala provided a night of food, music and shopping for more than 270 attendants.

The O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce's 15th Annual Art, Wine & Brew Gala drew it's largest crowd yet on Saturday. Chamber Communications Director Sara Henderson said that over 270 tickets were sold. City Hall was the perfect venue for this year's festivities. On the main level, Gala attendees enjoyed wine and food samples from some of O'Fallon's finest restaurants and were able to shop with several artisans displaying their wares. Later in the evening, guests headed upstairs to the gym, where they were treated to the music of CoverTrax Band, a five piece party and dance band.

Chamber Calls on Creativity for Logo Design

The O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce is asking members to design a T-shirt graphic for their annual Fourth of July run.

The O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce is searching for the best logo design for their 27th Annual Firecracker 10K, 5K and one mile Fun Run/Walk. The chosen design will be displayed on T-shirts worn  participants during the annual run, and the business that submits the chosen logo will also have their company logo printed on the back of all the shirts. Each year on July 4th, participants run or walk their way through the River City Rascal Stadium for the annual Firecracker 10K, 5K and one mile Fun Run/Walk. The run is the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce’s major fundraiser event. “By us doing special events, it allows us to keep membership fees low,” Laura Badolato, director of member services said. City Sales Tax Revenues Increase, Fund Public Services

Keep it in the “O” Campaign encourages O'Fallon residents to shop locally.

O’Fallon city officials said they identified the decreasing sales tax revenue in the community and agreed to initiate change by launching the Keep it in the “O” campaign in late 2009, to encourage residents to dine and shop locally. According to Tom Drabelle, director of public relations for the city of O’Fallon, the decline in sales tax profits was due in part to economy; however, another contributing factor was residents were primarily shopping and spending outside of their neighborhood. “A decent portion of residents were looking to neighboring communities,” said Drabelle. O’Fallon Increases Population, Families and Employment

American Community Survey releases five-year data estimates to public.

Even through the recession, O'Fallon has managed to grow in population and employment in the past five years, according to a survey released by the American Community Survey (ACS). ACS recently released five-year data estimates, which provide communities across the United States a closer look into how each city is changing. The data collected reflects information gathered between Jan. 1, 2005 - Dec. 31, 2009, to help determine how more than $400 billion in federal and state funds are issued each year. Categories such as, age, race, family and relationships, income and benefits and education were studied. This is also the first time since the 2000 Census that numbers are available for medium and smaller populated communities. According to …

Chamber of Commerce President Finds Her True Calling

After graduating college, Erin Williams turned her focus from animals and agriculture to business.

Fresh out of Northwest Missouri State with a degree in animal sciences, Erin Williams found herself stuck in a job she hated. She decided to seek new, temporary employment, something to merely provide a paycheck and tide her over while she sent out resumes. At the time, the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce (COC) was seeking an administrative assistant, so Williams, who had never even considered such a profession, applied and was hired. "I never even knew what chambers did [while in college]," she said, adding that she had always believed she would work in and retire from the agricultural field.  "But [agriculture] just wasn't for me."
