Got Two Words About the Chicago Cubs?

With the St. Louis Cardinals' home opener just days away, and with the rival Cubbies coming to town, now's the time for some trash talk — in two words.

You've heard the expression before, right? "I've got two words to say about that!" Well, this is the Patch version, coming ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals' home opener on Friday in which the Redbirds face off against the Chicago Cubs. Starting pitchers are expected to be Jeff Samardzija for the Cubs vs. Adam Wainwright for the Cards. After the Cardinals ruined the home opener for the Miami Marlins with a 4-1 victory in the team's new ballpark, and again ruined the home opener for the Milwaukee Brewers with an 11-5 victory, we have our heart set on a win for the Cards' opener at 2:15 p.m. Friday. Picky Eaters Beware: Real Mom of O'Fallon Talks School Lunch

One public school in Chicago recently banned brown bag lunches to promote healthy eating.

While watching the news recently, I learned that a Chicago school doesn’t allow children to bring their lunch from home.  They are required to purchase their lunch.  According to the principal at Little Village Academy, this policy was created because she was tired of seeing children bringing chips and soda for lunch.  A child with a medical excuse is exempt from this policy.  The issue of providing children with a healthy lunch is not a new one.  Last year, President Obama signed the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act into law.  Advocated by First Lady Michelle Obama, this act authorizes funding for federal school meal and child nutrition programs and increases access to healthy food for low-income children.  While I see a tremendous value in …
