A new Buffalo Wild Wings location is under construction in O'Fallon. The restaurant plans to relocate its O'Fallon restaurant to another part of town by the beginning of 2013. As O'Fallon Patch previously reported, the establishment is relocating from the intersection of Highway K and Highway N, to the former Old Country Buffet building in front of Target at Laura Hill. Christina Boehm, Buffalo Wild Wings franchise marketing manager said the reason for the move is to improve parking and gain higher visibility. An O'Fallon resident is preparing to re-open his bar and grill in a new location in the city. Playoffs Sports Bar and Grill was a restaurant and bar that featured karaoke, pool, dart leagues and live music at 40 Crossroads Plaza for 13 years until closing in July 2012. Playoffs owner Mike Elmore has requested a conditional use permit (CUP) for a new location at 2299 O'Fallon Crossing. The new proposed location is at Highway K and N behind Walgreens, in the same plaza as Clarkson Eye Care and Madison's Cafe. The new high school on Sommers Road had nearby residents concerned about traffic and safety.
The Wentzville School District Board of Education voted to override O'Fallon's rejection of a permit for the new high school. The conditional use permit would have acknowledged that a school could be constructed on the district's property on Sommers Road. The O'Fallon City Council voted 7-3 against the district’s request for a conditional use permit, after several residents voiced their concerns during the Jan. 12 meeting. Some residents of the Countryshire subdivision, which borders the land where the high school is set to be built, said they did not oppose building a new high school, but the plan to extend Paul Renaud Boulevard.
