The 2012 football season is in the books for most the Gateway Athletic Conference teams. Yes, it's time for another edition of the St. Charles County Athlete of the Week fan poll. Except this week has a twist. Instead of looking at the last week, we're looking at the entire season. Tell us in the poll below: Who was the top GAC football player in 2012? Shane Barrett—Fort Zumwalt East: The Lions sophomore quarterback had a solid first season leading the East offense. As a passer, Barrett was 80-for-169 for 1,441 yards and 17 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. Running the ball, Barrett was tied for the GAC Central in touchdowns with 13.
