O'Fallon Police Issue Citations During Red Light Enforcement

Police issue 36 citations at two intersections.

O’Fallon Police  recently conducted a red light violation enforcement that lead to 36 citations. Two teams of officers worked for four-hours on April 24 at the intersections of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway at Bryan Road and Highway K at Highway N. According to police, these intersections are both high violation areas and in the top five for intersections with the highest number of crashes. During the detail, officers conducted 35 traffic stops, issuing 26 red light or failure to yield right of way on green light violations. One person was charged with driving when license revoked. What a bunch of BS. I used to be for the enforcements which are not a bad idea, sure better than red light cameras, however the most amount of accidents are not at Hwy K and N nor at VMP and Bryan Rd. O'Fallon Police Issue Citations During Red Light Enforcement

Police issue 27 citations at Veterans Memorial Parkway and Route K.

O’Fallon Police  recently conducted a red light violation enforcement that lead to 27 citations.  Two teams of officers worked for four-hours on Oct. 3 at the intersections of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway at Bryan Road and Route K at Route N. According to police, these intersections are both high violation areas and in the top five for intersections with the highest number of crashes.  During the detail, officers conducted 28 traffic stops, issuing 18 red light or failure to yield right of way on green light violations. Two drivers were arrested for outstanding warrants and one person was charged with Driving While Suspended.    Funding for this effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway …

I would have to agree. There have been times where I have seen someone run a red light and think to myself, man I wish I was the police. Its either their not paying attention or their in a hurry and just don't want to stop. Don't be one of those people that says man I should have stopped, when its already too late.   more ›
