Candidate Filing For April Election Begins Tuesday

The Fort Zumwalt School Board will fill two seats in the April 2012 election. The O’Fallon Fire Protection District will elect a director.

Candidate filing for the April 3, 2012 elections begins Tuesday, Dec. 13 and runs until Tuesday, Jan. 17. Fort Zumwalt School District Two positions are open on the Fort Zumwalt School Board. Vice President Barbara Story and board member Mike MacCormack’s terms end in April.  As O’Fallon Patch previously reported, Fort Zumwalt board members currently serve three-year terms with no term limits. According to the 2010 census, O’Fallon has experienced around 72 percent growth in the past 10 years, bringing the population to around 80,000. This requires that Fort Zumwalt be classified as an urban district, which limits board members to two terms and requires them to serve six-year terms. This may change before the April 2012 election. SCC Board of Trustees Approves Filing Dates for April Election

Filing begins Dec. 13 and ends Jan. 17.

The St. Charles Community College (SCC) Board of Trustees approved the filing dates for the April 3, 2012 election at its Monday night meeting.  Two six-year terms and one two-year term on the SCC Board of Trustees are on the ballot. The terms up for election are currently held by: Six-Year Terms Two-Year Term SCC Board of Trustees Candidate Requirements: Interested candidates must file between Dec. 13 and Jan. 17 at the Office of the President, Room 2104, Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building at St. Charles Community College, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. in Cottleville. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Filings will not be accepted on Thursday, Dec. 22, through Tuesday, Jan. 3 or Monday, Jan. 16.

Election Filing Ends in O'Fallon

Thirteen candidates have filed for the six open city council seats and six have filed for the three open positions on the school board.

Filing for seats on the O’Fallon City Council and Fort Zumwalt School Board ended at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.   City of O’Fallon Thirteen candidates filed for six open seats on the O’Fallon City Council. The terms of Bill Gardner, Rose Mack, Bob Howell and Mike Pheney end in April, leaving one seat open in wards 1, 2, 4 and 5. Ward 3 has one two-year position and one three-year seat open. The two-year seat is left by Dan Haney's resignation in October. The three year seat is left by John Haman Jr.’s term ending in April. Candidates in filing order:  Challenger A.C. Candidates for Municipal Elections, School Board Positions Begin Filing

O'Fallon will elect six council members in April. The Fort Zumwalt School Board will fill three seats for three year terms.

Candidate filing for the April 5 elections begins Tuesday and runs until Jan. 18 for both the O'Fallon municipal elections and the Fort Zumwalt School Board. City of O'Fallon Filings for the city's five wards will be accepted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the West City Hall Conference Room today.  The terms of Bill Gardner, Rose Mack, John Haman, Bob Howell and Mike Pheney end in April.  Council members serve three year terms.  There is one two-year position open in Ward 3, left by Dan Haney's resignation in October. After Dec. 14, filing continues in the city clerk's office Monday through Friday from  8 a.m.-5 p.m. Qualifications: The last day for filing is Jan. 18.
