Flu season is coming early in parts of the United States: This time last year, flu cases were lower in the St. Louis area than they are now, according to data on Google's Flu Trends. The following information was shared by the St. Charles County Division of Public Health. St. Charles County, Missouri – Influenza (the flu) season begins in October and continues through the spring, which means that the time to schedule your flu shot is now —since it typically takes up to two weeks for protective antibodies to develop within the body. To help safeguard the community against influenza, the St. Charles County Division of Public Health will begin offering flu vaccine for $25 to adults and children on Monday, Sept. 17.
