Monday was the first day of registration for juniors and seniors at North High School.
The National Honor Society of Fort Zumwalt North High School held a car wash on Monday, the first day of registration for the 2011-2012 school year.

Zumwalt North fell to Timberland Friday night, 26-38.
The Fort Zumwalt North High School Panthers hosted the Timberland Wolves Friday night in O'Fallon. Timberland scored first about six minutes into the first quarter, with an 11-yard run for a touchdown. Panthers responded with a 34-yard touchdown but failed on their attempt for a 2-point conversion. The Wolves' Ben Steinkamp scored an 80-yard touchdown reception, bringing the score to 14-6 at the end of the first quarter. Timberland's Lucas Jordan scored again for the team with a five-yard run, and at half time the score stood at 21-6. The Panther defensive line couldn't stop the Wolves, who next scored on a seven-yard run. The Panthers fought back, and No. 14, V.J. Fort Zumwalt North baseball is 10-4 overall after its win over Fort Zumwalt South in a battle for first place.
The Fort Zumwalt North baseball team enters play this week atop the Gateway Athletic Conference North with a 3-0 record. The Panthers are 10-4 overall after their important 10-2 victory last Thursday over Fort Zumwalt South in a battle for first place. Zumwalt North is ahead of Zumwalt East and Zumwalt South, as each of those teams is 3-1 in the GAC North. In the 10-2 win, coach Steve Siebert saw ace senior starting pitcher Joey Siegler improve to a team-best 4-1 after throwing six innings and allowing two runs and striking out seven batters. Siegler has thrown 30 innings this season, and has a 3.50 earned-run average. At the plate, Sieger is batting .452 with 14 runs batted in. The primary offensive star for the Panthers has been first …

Fort Zumwalt North baseball has won six consecutive games, plus area updates on girls soccer.
Fort Zumwalt North baseball has reeled off six consecutive victories, capped by the Panthers’ 10-0 shutout of St. Charles on Friday. Pitcher Joey Siegler hurled a five-inning shutout, allowing just two Pirates hits. The Panthers are 9-4, including a 2-0 mark to grab an early co-lead in Gateway Athletic Conference North race. Fort Zumwalt South is also 2-0. Zumwalt North is allowing just 4.4 runs per game, and Siegler has played a vital role as the staff ace. He is 3-1 with a 3.79 ERA in a team-high 24 innings pitched. The dynamic senior has also been a force as a first baseman, hitting .432 and driving in 12 runs. Dre Gleason has been the primary catalyst for coach Steve Siebert’s offense. The Fort Zumwalt North Technology Student Association hosted the 10th annual Donkey Basketball Game on March 30.
The annual Donkey Basketball Game in the Fort Zumwalt North High School gym is a fundraiser for the school's Technology Student Association. It is their primary fundraiser for nationals. Teams at this year's event were comprised of Zumwalt North faculty, juniors and seniors.

Senior pitcher/outfielder recently accepted a full scholarship to play at Lindenwood University next season.
Fort Zumwalt North High senior Wade Rothermich knows people are watching him. They’ve been doing so his entire life when it comes to athletics, and Rothermich knows that heading into his final high school baseball season, people are watching with a close eye to see what he does. “And I like it like that,” Rothermich said. “It’s not really pressure or anything like that. It’s more expectations. I expect a lot from myself too. So I just go out there and try to be a good player and leader for my team.” And boy, has Rothermich been a fantastic performer for the Panther baseball and basketball teams ever since he was named a starter on both during his sophomore seasons. Key to Awesomeness: Susan said, "My daughter Maddie has started her own charity, Warm A Heart. She started this her sophomore year. Essentially, it is a blanket drive that she conducted all by herself. In addition to this, she has a proposal before the administration at Fort Zumwalt North to sponsor a cheerleading competition next year with all proceeds going to teen suicide awareness and prevention. It is going to be called, Cheer Up! The purpose is to raise funds and awareness for teen suicide, but also give the cheerleaders a chance to compete like the other athletes …

Board members said the building will receive improvements including new flooring and fire sprinkler systems.
As construction continues and classrooms are added at Fort Zumwalt North and West high schools, South High School is next in line for improvements. The school board approved a $1.9 million contract bid with West County’s Tri-Co, Inc. Commercial for interior renovations to South High School at Tuesday night's regular meeting. Improvements will include flooring, ceiling, painting, air conditioning, extending the existing sprinkler fire protection system and chalkboard refacing, according to Bill Weber, assistant superintendant of facilities and construction.
