Update: 10 Candidates File For O'Fallon April Election

Candidate filing began Dec. 11 and ends Jan. 15, 2013.

Filing for seats on the O’Fallon City Council ends on Jan. 15.  City of O’Fallon On the first day of filing, six candidates have filed for five open seats on the O'Fallon City Council and one candidate has filed for mayor.  The terms of Rick Lucas, Jim Pepper, Rick Battelle, Jeff Schwentker and Michael Snowden end in April, leaving one seat open in wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Mayor Bill Hennessy's term also ends in April. Council members serve three-year terms. Update: Candidates Begin Filing For O'Fallon April Election

Candidate filing began Dec. 11 and ends Jan. 15, 2013.

Candidate Filing For O'Fallon April Election Begins Tuesday

O'Fallon will elect five council members and a mayor. The Fort Zumwalt School Board will fill two seats.

Candidate filing for the April 2, 2013 election begins Tuesday, Dec. 11 and runs until Jan. 15 for both the O'Fallon municipal elections and the Fort Zumwalt School Board. City of O'Fallon Filings for the city's five wards and mayor position will be accepted at the West City Hall entrance on the first day of filing only, from 8 a.m –5 p.m. Council members serve three-year terms. The mayor serves a four-year term.  After Dec. 11, filing continues in the city clerk's office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Each candidate must file in person, and pay a $25 fee filed with the City Clerk.  Qualifications:  The last day for filing is Jan. 15. Legislative Moves Continue Toward Retaining Three-Year Terms for Fort Zumwalt

Missouri House and Senate bills would allow Fort Zumwalt school board members to continue to serve three-year terms.

Legislative moves to exempt Fort Zumwalt Board of Education members from serving six-year instead of three-year terms are winding their way this week through the Missouri General Assembly. A hearing on Senate Bill 450 that would allow the Fort Zumwalt School District to retain three-year terms for its seven-member board was scheduled before the Senate Education Committee on Jan. 11. “So far it's moving pretty good,” said Bernard DuBray, superintendent of the Fort Zumwalt School District. DuBray was scheduled to testify before the education committee. DuBray and the present school board want the legislation to move quickly because without a legislative remedy school board members elected on April 3 would serve six-year terms. The bill …
