O'Fallon voters re-elected Bill Hennessy for a second mayoral term on Tuesday, April 2. Hennessy, who has served as mayor since 2009 and on the O'Fallon City Council for 10 years, won with about 69 percent of the votes, with 4,239 votes. Challenger Dave Goewert received about 31 percent of the votes, with 1,905 votes. O'Fallon mayor serves for a four-year term. See more O'Fallon 2013 April Election Results here.

The City of O'Fallon issued an updated list of candidates for the April 2013 election of mayor and city council members on Tuesday afternoon. O'Fallon City Clerk Pam Clement sent the final list of names to the Election Authority on Tuesday. According to Clement, she could not certify Ward 5 candidates Vicki Schneider or Jim Reiter due to section 115.346 of the Revised Missouri State Statues. According to the statues: Persons in arrears for municipal taxes or fees shall not be candidates for municipal office, when: 115.346. Planning and Zoning approves updated site plan for Chick-Fil-A and questions amount of metal in MEMC building design at Thursday's meeting.
At Thursday night’s Planning and Zoning meeting, the commission approved an updated site plan for the Chick-Fil-A that is to be built in the block near the intersection of Laura Hill Road and Highway K. The new site plan called for an additional drive through lane to reduce traffic at the Chick-Fil-A. GBC Design Site Engineer Allan Wiley said Chick-Fil-A expects the site will draw a lot of customers. “They have a feeling that that site is going to do well, have a lot of business,” Wiley said. “So they wanted to add the second drive through lane in order to help alleviate any kind of wait time while you are going through it and getting your food.” The commission also forwarded plans for a new building at the MEMC campus to the Board of …
