MoDOT officials said the project should be wrapped up in 18 months.
Officials from MoDOT, state and local legistators and the mayors of St. Charles, O'Fallon, Weldon Spring, Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie and Lake Saint Louis lifted symbolic shovels of dirt Wednesday morning to commemorate the beginning of Phase 3 of the Page Avenue Extension. Ed Hassinger, a district engineer with MoDOT, told the gathered crowd that the project should be complete in 18 months. He spoke about the tremendous cooperation between all levels of government that the project required. St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann said that the project, which follows the path of the old Boonslick Trail, started with a corridor preservation study 20 years ago. MoDOT hopes to open the bridge in Mid-August, three months ahead of the original schedule.
The Blanchette Bridge project is progressing ahead of schedule. On Friday morning Missouri Department of Transportation District Engineer Ed Hassinger and St. Charles Mayor Sally Faith said Friday morning that the project could be finished three months ahead of schedule. When the westbound bridge was closed November 2, 2012, plans called for the shutdown to last for a maximum of one year. However Hassinger said MoDOT is pushing to open the bridge annual Festival of the Little Hills in mid-August. If MoDOT hits that goal, the project would be done three months ahead of the original schedule. Commuters should be aware of lane closures this week on Hwy. K near Hwy. N.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be closing lanes on northbound Highway K in O'Fallon this week. If weather permits, pavement repair crews will be working on various lanes on northbound K between the I-364 South Outer Road and Highway N. Repair work is scheduled between 8 p.m and 6 a.m. on weeknights, weather permitting. For ways to avoid work zones, call 1-888-ASK-MODOT or visit MoDOT's website at www.modot.org/

MoDOT will doing pavement repairs at Route 79 and re-striping on the Blanchette Bridge.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will be busy on Monday in St. Charles County. MoDOT will close the far right lane of eastbound Interstate 70 near Route 79 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 29 for pavement repairs, weather permitting. The lane closure will begin just east of Route 79. The entrance ramp from Route 79 to eastbound I-70 will also be closed. Northbound Route 79 motorists are advised to follow the message boards and use the north outer road to detour and access eastbound I-70. Closer to St. Louis, MoDOT will close multiple lanes in each direction on Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Missouri River Bridge from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday. Lane closures will be coming to westbound Interstate 70 starting on Monday. The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the far right lane of westbound Interstate 70 near Route 79 on Monday, April 22 at 3 a.m. The closure begins a half mile east of Route 79 and ends at the Route 79 exit. This closure will remain in place for the next three months. The Route 79 exit remains open. This work is part of a project constructing a diverging diamond interchange (DDI). The project also includes the construction of an additional westbound I-70 lane between Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Route 79.

Join the Missouri Department of Transportation, community leaders and other volunteers to help pick up litter on Missouri roads.
Join the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), community leaders and other volunteers for the department's annual "No More Trash! Bash" on April 6. MoDOT will supply participants with trash bags, safety vests, litter pickers and gloves and will guide volunteers along the routes while picking up litter. The goal of the event is to spread awareness of Missouri's litter problem and work toward a litter-free state.
