Real Mom of O'Fallon shares her love of all things Twilight.
Yep, I am one of those moms. We refer to ourselves as Twilight Moms, Twi-Sista’s and even Twi-Hards. Most of the time, I am a normal mom that focuses most of my time and attention to my husband and children. However, a couple of times a year, I become this wild, crazy, slightly obsessed person. It all started innocently enough. I was looking for a new book to read, and a friend of mine, Kristen, lent me her copy of Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. I was actually pretty against reading it at first, because I knew the book was classified as young adult. Worried it would read like a Sweet Valley High book, Kristen assured me it was above a fifth grade reading level and to just give it a chance. I read the book and it was okay. I wasn’t …

Alligator's Creek Aquatic Center is hosting a dive-in movie from 8:30-10 p.m. on Friday night.
Combine the best of summer fun with swimming and movies at Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center's Dive-In movie event this weekend. The pool turned theatre will be showing Shrek Forever After from 8:30-10 p.m. The pool will be closed for cleaning and set-up between 8-8:30 p.m. The concession stand will be open for swimmers and movie goers throughout the night. According to a news release from the City of O'Fallon, a limited number of inner tubes will be available for use, or swimmers may bring their own if they are no larger than 30 inches in diameter.

If you've ever wished you could play Quidditch or attend Hogwarts, then you might be a die-hard Harry Potter fan and in that case will definitely want to stop by the Middendorf-Kredell Library before the end of May. The St. Charles City-County Library District presents the national touring exhibit "Harry Potter's World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine." The display was brought to the library by the National Libraries of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, and will be on display at the Middendorf-Kredell until May 21. Denise Ulett, the Consumer Health Librarian who wrote the proposal to bring in the exhibit, said the library was on a two-year wait list.
