Business Q&A: Care and Counseling Opens Office in O'Fallon

Laura Albers, a Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing with Care and Counseling, talks about her work and the new O'Fallon office located at 835 West Terra Lane inside Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

Care and Counseling is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to providing a safe, secure and affordable way for individuals and families to seek psychological help in times of need. Laura Albers is a Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing with Care and Counseling at their St. Charles satellite office and a recently opened second office in O'Fallon. Laura was born in Cape Giradeau, MO and attended Missouri State University in Springfield to earn her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology. Firehouse Subs to Open in O'Fallon in Late November

The shop will be located at 104 Laura K Dr.

A new sandwich shop will soon open its doors in O'Fallon.  Firehouse Subs is under construction at 104 Laura K Dr., O'Fallon, near Starbucks and the Pediatric Urgent Care. Jon Collins, of Labadie, MO, owns the shop. He was unavailable for comment this week, but his business partner and brother Brian Collins said he expects to open in late November. This is the first Firehouse Subs to open in St. Charles County.  According to the Firehouse Subs website, the chain began 18 years ago now has more than 540 restaurants in 32 states and Puerto Rico. The retail incubator is located at 991 Waterbury Falls Dr. in May.

LOOK! Shops opens for business on Wednesday, Aug. 1. The unique new shop, located at 991 Waterbury Falls Dr., began construction in May.  Co-owners Kathy Machisen and Rebecca Riegerix describe the shop as a new concept for retail. They rent smaller spaces, including shelves and large cubbies for other businesses and entrepreneurs to set up shop and sell their products. The shop is designed to sell merchandise from new start-ups, expanding, downsizing or online businesses.  It also serves as a place to test new products and help the “mini-preneuer” get started. O'Fallon CVS Pharmacy Expected to Open in October

Mobil On the Run at Highway K and N was torn down to make way for the new pharmacy that is currently under construction.

CVS Pharmacy is expected to open its doors in O’Fallon by late October.  O'Fallon Patch previously reported in March that CVS Pharmacy purchased land at the southeast corner of the intersection of Highway K and Highway N, where the On the Run gas station previously stood. This land, which is owned by Arch Energy, is  subdivided into two lots because a cell phone tower sits on the property. The Mobil On the Run was torn down to make way for the new drugstore.  The Country Club Car Wash, located at 2999 Highway K at the northwest intersection—across from Mobil on the Run's old site—is adding the gas station's convenience shop to its location. Now Open: Cappuccino's on Highway K

The cafe relocated from its Bryan Road location and opened on Thursday.

Cappuccino's Restaurant is now open in its new location near Walmart on Highway K. The cafe, previously located at 840 Bryan Rd., is relocated to 1365 Highway K, formerly the Royal Kitchen Sushi Grill and Buffet.  A sign on the door earlier this month read: "Our new place will offer our same great food and drink plus more. A unique new shop is heading to O’Fallon this summer. Look! Shops LLC is expected to begin construction on May 1, at 991 Waterbury Falls Dr., former home of Glass of Laughs. Co-owners Kathy Machisen and Rebecca Riegerix describe the shop as a new concept for retail. Hobo’s Restaurant Plans Move to O’Fallon

The bar and restaurant is planning to relocate from the St. Peters American Legion to north Main Street.

A popular St. Peters restaurant and bar is heading to O’Fallon. Hobo’s Restaurant at the Tap, currently located at the St. Peters American Legion at 200 Main St., is in the early process of renovating a building at 1305 north Main Street in O’Fallon.   Planning and Development Director David Woods said the building on Main Street, owned by Dave Peters, is between 35-40 years old. The owners are currently working with the O’Fallon Fire Protection District on plans for additional construction and improvements to the site. Woods said the business went through the approval of O’Fallon Planning and Zoning, and the next steps include the approval of the site, building permit, as well as a liquor license.

New Auto Repair Shop and a Gun Store to Open in O’Fallon

O’Fallon City Council approved conditional use permits for Jeff’s Extreme Cars as well as Extreme Gun Care, LLC.

Two new shops will soon join the list of new businesses opening in O’Fallon this year. O’Fallon City Council approved a conditional use permit for Jeff’s Extreme Cars at a meeting on Thursday, March 8. Jeff’s Extreme Cars will be located at 108 St. Joseph St. Bob Elmore, the property owner, spoke during a public hearing before the permit was approved. Elmore said the building has been used for cars since 1964. It started as an auto parts store, and now Jeff Herndon would like to open a repair shop. The ordinance allowing the conditional use permit was scheduled for first reading on Thursday. Ward 1 Councilman Rick Lucas made a motion to suspend the rules and read the ordinance through to completion, so Herndon would not have to wait two …
