Hobo’s Restaurant at the Tap, is located at the St. Peters American Legion at 200 Main St. The popular St. Peters establishment offers typical bar fare in addition to frog legs, catfish and fried chicken. Happy hour is from 3- 5 p.m. on Monday-Friday and the bar features live music every Saturday night. Here's Johnny's, located at 1322 Sunburst Dr., was open in O'Fallon for nine years before shutting down for several months over the summer. New owner John Callahan re-opened the establishment in September. While Here's Johnny's was known for their live music, with car and movie memorabilia on the walls--Callahan says he's taking the restaurant in a new direction. Unfortuntely the last thing OFallon needed was another Sports Bar. Johnny's provided a place to eat drink and listen to music. We would go to Johnny's for happy hour and never leave because they had a good band. We checked out Callahan's last weekend and the service was terrible. O'Fallon has some local places that many would consider community gems, some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop but are unique to the area and O'Fallon certainly have plenty of chains lining our main streets. I went in on Feb 19th. I walked in the door at 6:10 i saw one man standing at the end of the counter talking to a older couple. I saw one employee cleaning lights and one employee watching him.
