Fire Destroys Weldon Spring Home on Monday Morning

Cottleville and O'Fallon Fire Fighters responded to the blaze at 752 Cedar Glen Drive at 5:30 a.m.

A family of six is safe on Monday after a fire destroyed their Weldon Spring Home.  According Cottleville Fire officials, crews responded to the fire at 752 Cedar Glen Drive at 5:30 a.m. Monday, April 8.  The first arriving crew found heavy fire involvement in the back of the home that extended to the interior. The captain requested a second alarm assignment.  Responding to the scene was Cottleville Fire District, O’Fallon Fire District, Central County Fire & Rescue, Monarch Fire District and St. Charles County Ambulance District. Firehouse Subs Donates Nearly $20K in Equipment to O'Fallon Fire District

Helmets and a thermal-imaging camera valued at $17,800 were given to the O'Fallon Fire Protection District.

The O'Fallon Fire Protection District accepted a donation of some much-needed equipment Wednesday at the Firehouse Subs restaurant off Highway K. Firehouse Subs franchisee Brian Collins and Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation development manager Meghan Bender made the presentation of the donation of 30 structural firefighters' helmets and a thermal imaging camera. The donation equaled more than $17,800. The camera will detect body heat and hot spots in burning buildings and allows firefighters to reach victims quicker and put out deadly fires. St Charles County Paramedics Rescue Dogs From O'Fallon Fire

Three family members safely escaped a fire at their home in the 700 block of Red Hawk Drive in O'Fallon on Monday.

After an O'Fallon family managed to escape their home that caught fire on Monday night, local paramedics rescued two of their pets that were left behind.  According to a news release from the St. Charles County Ambulance District, a home in the 700 block of Red Hawk Drive in O'Fallon went up in flames at 8:30 p.m. on Monday night.  O'Fallon and Wentzville firefighters extinguished the fire, which started in the basement of the home.  Martin Limpert a spokesman for the ambulance district, said that fortunately, all three residents were able to escape unharmed and take one of their dogs with them. Huey was a Beautiful Cat that My Sister Sherri had Rescued from the Animal Shelter and will be Deeply missed by Kenny, Drew and Sherri. I am so sorry Huey did not make it. O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach Hosts Holiday Toy, Food Drive

Items may be dropped off at any O'Fallon Fire station until Dec. 14. The last day to drop off items is Dec. 14.

The O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach adopted several local families in need this holiday season. The group is hosting a canned food and toy drive to help these families, but they need your support.  To help out, you can drop off cans of food and new, unwrapped toys at each of the following fire stations: Items may be dropped off at any time. The last day to drop off items is Dec. 14. The O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach has adopted several local families this Holiday season. The collected items will be donated to these families first. Remaining food and toys will be donated to the local St. Vincent De Paul Society.

2 Places to Meet Santa in O'Fallon This Weekend

Santa will stop by the O'Fallon Fire Station #4 and City Hall on Saturday.

Santa Claus is coming to town and there's still time to sign your child up to meet him.  Both the City of O'Fallon and the O'Fallon Fire Protection District host events this weekend that will allow kids to meet Jolly Old St. Nick and have their photos taken.

O’Fallon Firefighters Aid Victims of Hurricane Sandy on East Coast

Three local firefighters who serve on Missouri Task Force 1 spent 10 days helping people find medication, water and food.

Teams of emergency responders across the nation headed to the east coast in late October to help victims who were left without food, water, shelter or electricity after the storms of Hurricane Sandy. Among the volunteers, were three O’Fallon Firefighters who serve on the Urban Search and Rescue Missouri Task Force 1 Team. The task force is one of 28 federal search and rescue teams across the nation, compiled of volunteers including doctors, paramedics, K-9 officers and fire fighters. All are trained in urban search and rescue and structural collapse. The Boone County Fire Protection District, just outside of Columbia, MO, is the sponsoring agency for the 210 person team of Missouri Task Force 1. Members respond to man-made and national …
