Check out the most recent food inspection reports from St. Charles County Health Department.
St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment regularly inspects food service establishments throughout St. Charles County, except for within limits of St. Peters. Businesses are inspected one to four times a year or after public complaints. "Lower-risk" places, like gas-stations that serve pre-packaged foods, are inspected less often than "higher-risk" places, like a restaurant, said Doug Bolnick, spokesman for the health department. That's right, you're the local expert.
When it comes to restaurants, O'Fallon has plenty. O'Fallon has some local places that many would consider community gems, some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop but are unique to the area and O'Fallon certainly have plenty of chains lining our main streets. But what the city doesn't have have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not. That's where you come in. It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark. Earlier this week, Firehouse Subs opened in O'Fallon. The sandwich shop is located at 104 Laura K Dr. If you gave the new restaurant a try this week, we want to hear what you thought! Tell us in the comment section below!

Pick recipes that are easy to make while creating a new dish that isn't immediately recognized as including leftovers. Chili, enchiladas and pastas are excellent examples ways to use leftover cooked turkey. Think past the turkey. Thanksgiving's traditional sides can find new life in countless recipes. For example, I use leftover sweet potatoes to make a cream of sweet potato soup and those mashed potatoes…

We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out.
