Man Indicted on Statutory Rape, Sodomy Charges

Donald Rentsch, of Wright City, is accused of six counts of having sex with a child younger than 14 years old.

A Wright City man was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury Friday on six counts of sexually abusing a child. Donald Rentsch, 27, of the first block of Sleepy Lane in Wright City, was charged with two counts of first-degree statutory rape and four counts of first-degree statutory sodomy. O’Fallon Police said Rentsch twice had sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old and had deviate sexual intercourse with the person four times. Rentsch is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was reduced May 14 from $250,000 to $125,000, cash only, over objections from the St. Charles County prosecutors.
