Santa will soon be packing his sleigh for the trip back to the North Pole, but you can still catch Santa around the St. Charles area this weekend—in case you want to add a few things to your list. Here's where: Jehling Hardware, O'Fallon Children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Sat., Dec., 22, receive a small gift bag and have a chance to ride the outdoor train for free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They can also play in a bounce house and enter a coloring contest. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is charged with keeping the United States and Canada safe from dangers originating from the sky or space. Tonight, however, the Colorado-based government agency adds one more important task to its daily list of duties. The agency will again provide its Official Santa Tracker that marks the Big Man's every move as he makes his way throughout both hemispheres. Local families will be able to see Santa's progress and be prepared for his arrival in Wentzville. Included on the site is a countdown and activity page and a flight tracking system. Kids and adults can enjoy this very entertaining site that will have sugar plums dancing through everyone's head before retiring.
Police officers pitch in as elves during a trip Tuesday to Mercy Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.
Santa is gearing up for his official Christmas visit this coming weekend, but he made a special trip to town Tuesday, with an escort of elves from the Creve Coeur Police department as he visited Mercy Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House next door. The jolly old elf dropped by to see kids who were getting care from as far as Jefferson City and as near as O'Fallon. The visit to the hospital was made possible by donations from Creve Coeur Police Department employees as well as their children, who brought gifts to a recent Breakfast with Santa event. The St. Louis Elk Lodge #9 also made a donation to the effort. Once Santa and his crew were done at the hospital, they stopped at the Ronald McDonald House and presented staff there …

Santa paid an early visit to O'Fallon over the weekend. Jolly Old St. Nick stopped by the O'Fallon Fire Protection District's third annual Free Picture with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11 at Station #4, 1306 Sunview Dr. Kids filled out wish lists, enjoyed cookies and took tours of a fire truck while they waited to meet Santa at this free event. The O'Fallon Fire Protection District also collected items for local food pantries, and encouraged guests to bring canned food items for donation.
