Police still are searching for a man charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Tuesday’s shooting death of Dorothy Hall, 55. Terry Culberson, 63, of the first block of Downing Street in O’Fallon, was charged by St. Charles County Prosecutor’s Office with the crimes Wednesday. O’Fallon Police detectives discovered Hall’s body in Culberson’s home, and police said Culberson was the only person inside the home before her death. She had been shot several times A witness also reported seeing Culberson leave the house in his vehicle. O'Fallon Police said the man challenged another person to meet him at the pool to fight, and during the altercation he pulled out a handgun and fired five shots in the air. Police discovered the handgun was stolen.
During a fight at the Hutchings Farm Subdivision pool, a 19-year-old O’Fallon man pulled out a handgun, pointed it at several people and fired five shots into the air on Jan. 6, O’Fallon Police said. The weapon also had been reported stolen. Jacob Anthony Aaron Davis, 19, of the first block of Congressional Way Court in O’Fallon, was charged by the St. Charles County Prosecutor’s Office Thursday with receiving stolen property. O’Fallon Police said Davis texted and tweeted another man to meet him and fight him at the subdivision pool at 210 Hutchings Farm Parkway. An O’Fallon man fired four shots from a shotgun Sunday, and two of the shots hit a mobile home next to his in the 2300 block of Oakbrook Drive in O’Fallon, police said. Eight people were in the home, including a baby who was sleeping in the master bedroom where the shots were fired. O’Fallon Police said they found a shotgun pellet in the bedroom closet and seven pellet holes near the bedroom. Mark B. O'Fallon Police don't have plans to increase security at local theaters, but police in St. Louis County plan to increase patrols.
The mass shooting at the première of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, CO, has prompted some St. Louis-area movie theaters to consider increased security. At approximately 1 a.m. Friday, a man wearing a gas mask entered the Colorado theater during the midnight showing of the newest Batman movie, hurled a gas canister and then began shooting, the Associated Press reported. At least 50 are injured and 12 have been confirmed dead. Police took 24-year old James Holmes into custody for the shooting early Friday morning. No motive has been released. O'Fallon Police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting, involving a police officer, on the 7900 block of Oak Bark Court in the Pine Oaks Park mobile home park. Police say a man called at 2:12 a.m. to report his son, who had reportedly taken out a medieval style club with spikes and became violent at his home. A man involved in a morning standoff at the Economy Inn in Wentzville has died, according to Wentzville Police. The man had locked himself in a room at the motel and shot at police. It is not immediately known if the man shot himself or was killed when officers fired shots. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is identifying the victim as Mark C. Curl, 54, of the 1400 block of Plaza Place in Wentzville. Police responded to the Economy Inn motel to check on the welfare of a subject, KMOV reported. Paul J. Morrison, the O'Fallon man alleged to have shot his estranged wife's boyfriend on Christmas Eve morning was sentenced this morning. Morrison, 45, was originally charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. He pled guilty to second-degree assault, a Class C felony, on Sept. 19. Morrison also pled guilty Monday to a second charge of manufacturing an illegal substance (methamphetamine), a Class B felony. That charge stems from a Sept. 7 arrest. St. Charles Circuit Judge Nancy L. Schneider sentenced Morrison to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the assault and 10 years for the drug charge. His sentences are to run concurrently. Morrison also was sentenced to 120 …

Employees at Herndon Products noticed damage from bullet holes on their way into work Monday morning.
Police are investigating bullet holes discovered in an O'Fallon business early Monday morning. O'Fallon Police say they received a call from Herndon Products on the 3800 block of Lloyd King Drive around 7 a.m. Employees noticed damage on their way into work Monday morning. Police said no one was in the business when shots were fired and no one was injured. According to a news release from Herndon Products, property damage included bullet holes in walls and windows. Police say this is the second case under investigation at the business in the past few months. Another report of bullet damage was reported on May 23, 2011.
