The St. Charles County Ambulance District will not be able to call their tax increase ballot measure "Proposition Lifesavers," Judge Ted House decided.
A lawsuit brought by O'Fallon's Arnie (A.C.) Dienoff challenging his removal from the candidate list for the St. Charles County Ambulance District Board included two counts that will change the appearance of the District's tax increase request on the April 2 ballot. The tax increase, which was previously named "Proposition Lifesavers" as submitted by the ambulance board, will be called simply "Proposition E." As it was written, Circuit Court Judge Ted House said that the language was not "a fair, impartial summary, but instead makes arguments in favor of the proposal." The wording included statements that the population of St. Charles County is growing and aging, that the tax increase would prevent delays in response times to 911 calls …

Local paramedics delivered a baby girl at 3 a.m. at the Dardenne Prairie base on Jan. 8.
The doorbell rang at 3 a.m. and roused four sleeping paramedics in Dardenne Prairie on January 8. It was expectant dad Brad Limbaugh, of Wright City, at the door and he needed help. "My wife’s having a baby, now, her water just broke," he told the St. Charles County Ambulance District crew. Paramedics looked out to see Jamie Limbaugh, 32, exiting the car and saying, “I can feel the baby’s head.” Jamie was quickly brought inside and laid down on the carpeted living room. Three family members safely escaped a fire at their home in the 700 block of Red Hawk Drive in O'Fallon on Monday.
After an O'Fallon family managed to escape their home that caught fire on Monday night, local paramedics rescued two of their pets that were left behind. According to a news release from the St. Charles County Ambulance District, a home in the 700 block of Red Hawk Drive in O'Fallon went up in flames at 8:30 p.m. on Monday night. O'Fallon and Wentzville firefighters extinguished the fire, which started in the basement of the home. Martin Limpert a spokesman for the ambulance district, said that fortunately, all three residents were able to escape unharmed and take one of their dogs with them. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jeremy Witt, 19, O'Fallon suffered moderate injuries in an accident on westbound I-70 on Saturday.
An O'Fallon man suffered injuries in a car accident on westbound I-70 on Saturday, Aug. 25. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jeremy Witt, 19, O'Fallon, traveled westbound in a 1984 Ford Escort when he traveled off the roadway at 5:13 a.m. The report states that Witt's car struck the median several times. The car was totaled and St. Charles County Ambulance transported Witt to St. Joseph's Hospital West with moderate injuries.

Local emergency personnel are urging residents to be aware of the possible increase in fire and medical emergencies due the dry conditions and heat in St. Charles County. Temperatures have lingered in the 100s for days, and with the Fourth of July holiday coming up, fire and police officials warn that the drought-like conditions and fireworks don’t mix. Some fire departments, including Wentzville and Cottleville, have already seen small grass fires due to personal fireworks displays. The St Charles County Ambulance District paramedics and O'Fallon fire fighters responded to a call on Dec. 26.
An O'Fallon family was treated for carbon monoxide poisoning early Monday morning. According to the St. Charles County Ambulance District, paramedics and O'Fallon fire fighters responded to a 911 call around 8:05 a.m. on Dec. 26. When emergency responders arrived, one adult and two children standing outside the home appeared to have reddish colored faces and complained of feeling light headed. One family member was still inside the home. EMS, fire fighters and police departments were invited to participate in the annual event.
DePaul EMS sponsored the 6th annual softball tournament at the Bridgeton Athletic Center May 18. Teams represented their districts for the coveted "traveling trophy" and bragging rights across the entire Metro area. Returning champions, the Florissant Fire Department, handed the trophy to tournament director Tracey Naughton and then the the games began. Monarch Fire Protection District came out on top and held on for a 4-2 victory against University City Fire Protection District after a long day that provided a family atmosphere for the 20 teams entered and their fans. In between games fans visited the kiddie booth, played washers, had their faces painted and enjoyed the music.

Huey was a Beautiful Cat that My Sister Sherri had Rescued from the Animal Shelter and will be Deeply missed by Kenny, Drew and Sherri. I am so sorry Huey did not make it.
