City Council Accepts Road Board Funding for Two Major Reconstruction Projects
2013 will bring pavement improvements for Laura Hill Road and a redesigned intersection at Hwy. N and Sommers Road.
The O'Fallon City Council recently approved the use of St. Charles County Road Board funds for two major road projects in O'Fallon: slab replacement on Laura Hill and intersection improvements for Hwy. N and Sommers Road. Pavement on Laura Hill between Highway K and the area near the fire station has been deteriorating, city staff reported. The $143,000 project will include slab removal and replacement, and the addition of a sidewalk along the south side to connect gaps in the existing sidewalk. The city's portion of the project budget is $28,600. The remaining $114,400 will be provided by the St. Charles County Road Board's Transportation Sales Tax (TST) funds.
