Man Throws Liquor Bottles at Cop, Police Say

The man stole the liquor from an O'Fallon Walmart on the same day that he contacted a woman in violation of a court order, according to court documents.

A man accused of twice violating a protection order also faces criminal charges for stealing two bottles of liquor and throwing them at a police officer who pursued him, police said. He stole the liquor bottles from the O’Fallon Walmart and threw them at the officer on the same day he violated the protection order, according to court documents. Chad McCormick, 39, was charged Jan. 4 with two counts of violating an order of protection, once on Aug. 31 and again on Sept. 26. McCormick also was charged Feb 7 with misdemeanor theft, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest on Sept. 26. O'Fallon Resident Tazed After Stepson Breaks into Home

The victim's stepson and another man broke into his home, damaged property and assaulted him, police said.

Two men broke into an O’Fallon home on April 20 to assault their stepfather, according to an O’Fallon Police report. Daryn M. Phipps, 18, was charged Wednesday in St. Charles County Circuit Court with burglary. Police are seeking a second man who participated in the break-in, said Officer Diana Damke of O’Fallon Police. According to the police report, Phipps and another man drove their vehicle up into Phipps' mother and stepfather's yard in the 1000 block of Fawn Ridge Drive, striking the mailbox. They forced open the locked front door, damaging it. Once inside, the second man shocked Phipps’ stepfather with a Taser-like device, causing him to fall to the floor, police said in the report.
