A St. Charles County Sheriff's Deputy said the Randy K. Voerg Jr and the boy argued and Voerg hit the youth in the eye.
A 17-year-old St. Charles County man is accused of punching a 13-year-old boy in the eye on March 8. Randy K. Voerg Jr., 17, was charged March 11 with third-degree assault. His address was listed as being in the first block of Barberry Lane in St. Charles County near O’Fallon. A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy reported that Voerg and the child had a verbal argument in the 100 block of Tee Kay Drive in St. Charles County near O'Fallon. Voerg became enraged, crossed the street and twice punched the 13-year-old in the eye, according to the report. The boy’s eye was swollen and bruised, the deputy said. A man faces criminal charges after police said he’s harassed a St. Peters teen since Aug. 5. A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy said in a report that Edward Tessmer, 45, of the 400 block of Mar-Ton Estates Drive in O’Fallon has been calling the girl repeatedly, cursing and threatening her over a civil dispute. Tessmer also went to the woman’s home on Harvest Meadow Court in St. Peters Monday and tried to take property that belongs to the teen, an officer said. He falsely stating he had a mechanic’s lien on the property and had a police officer with him, according to court documents. Tessmer was charged Wednesday with harassing a person age 17 or under. The girl recorded several verbally abusive phone messages from Tessmer, police said. …

O’Fallon Police said a teenager is responsible for a June 30 burglary on Alviston Court in O’Fallon. Brian Chappel, 18, of the first block of East O’Fallon Drive in O’Fallon, was charged in St. Charles County Circuit Court Wednesday with second-degree burglary, stealing and resisting arrest. Police said Chappel broke into the home by breaking a window, causing $561 in property damage and stole jewelry and electronics valued at about $3,330. He also fled from police in a car and refused to stop, according to the police report. Chappel had been on probation for stealing. Bond was set at $25,000. A 17-year-old in Weldon Spring Heights hit his mother Tuesday and struggled with her, sheriff's deputies said.
A 17-year-old in Weldon Spring Heights was charged Thursday with assaulting his mother. Alexander R. Wallace, of the first block of Weldon Spring Heights Drive faces two counts of third-degree domestic assault. According to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report, Wallace on Tuesday hit his mother in the head and struggled with her, bruising her arm and breaking her glasses. When another person tried to restrain him, he stomped on their foot, causing bleeding from a small toe, the report said. The deputy’s report also said Wallace allegedly assaulted his father, too. Bond was set at $5,000, and the judge ordered no contact with the victim.

Ryan Himmel could juggle his way into thousands of dollars in college scholarships. Ryan is one of 11 finalists for the second annual St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition, a regional contest where talented high schoolers compete for scholarships and performance opportunities. Ryan, a senior at Living Word Christian High School, has been juggling for seven years. His brother, older than Ryan by five years, taught him the basics, and “I just kind of took it from there,” Ryan said. Ryan would use the scholarship prizes to pay for college next year. He’s deciding among Lindenwood University, Florida State University and Illinois State University. He thinks he’ll study business, but he’d love to keep juggling—especially at Florida or …

Eight students from O’Fallon high schools are competing in the St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition.
High school students from O’Fallon will compete next weekend in the St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition to earn thousands of dollars in scholarships. Eight students from O’Fallon have signed up to be part of the 119 acts in the competition: The preliminary rounds on March 10 and 11 will narrow the field down to about 30 acts. The final 12 will perform at The Fabulous Fox Theater on April 27. The first, second and third place winners earn $7,000, $5,000 or $3,000 in scholarships, respectively. Other universities and organizations, such as Lindenwood University or The Muny, are also offering scholarships and prizes. Police say the teen suffered minor injuries after being hit by a bus while riding his bike illegally through a crosswalk at Bryan Road.
An O'Fallon teen suffered minor injuries after a school bus struck and knocked him off his bike at Bryan Road and Great Warrior Drive on Thursday afternoon, according to O'Fallon Police. O'Fallon Police Sgt. Mike Plum said a 17-year-old boy illegally entered a crosswalk without pressing the pedestrian button. He said when the school bus began turning right on a green light, the driver did not see the teen. The bus hit the 17-year-old, knocking him to the ground. Plum said the teen suffered minor injuries, with no broken bones or head trauma. He was transported to St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake Saint Louis.
