O'Fallon resident Mary Powers and her group need your help next weekend to support our troops.
Also, help out with the Missouri State High School Water Polo Tournament or Race for the Rivers.
Recycle City Open House/Race to Recycling Duathlon & 1-Mile Fun Walk/Run St. Peters hosts an open house along with a run and other events on April 27. Volunteer to help guide Recycle City Open House tours, assist with the Recycle City booth, or check in race participants, pass out water and direct bikers. Spring Special Olympics Help out at the Special Olympics track and field and aquatic activities at Westminister Christian Academy, 800 Maryville Centre Dr., Town and Country on April 27. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. with events wrapping up at 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are still needed for buddies and to cheer on athletes in the stands. This was the first time the firefighters have offered the snow-shoveling service, and they hope it will grow.
On Friday, Jim Schram was just one of several residents that got some help from Wentzville Fire District firefighters who donate their time off to serve their community. After four to six inches of snow and sleet fell on the community Thursday, firefighters took the streets Friday equipped with snow shovels and snow blowers as part of the Wentzville Fire District's Community Outreach program. Schram's sister had seen a post about the firefighters' snow-shoveling service posted on the Community Outreach Facebook Page and tagged him, suggesting that he email the firefighters and ask for help. The firefighters made the offer of help several times via Facebook on Wednesday and Thursday, asking anyone who needed help to contact them by email. …

A few weeks ago, O'Fallon Patch asked readers to help out an O'Fallon woman who was looking for help baking homemade treats to send to our nation's service men and women oversees.
