May Days Festival on WingHaven Boardwalk Rescheduled for Saturday

The event runs from noon to 3:30 p.m.

After a rainy weekend canceled plans to celebrate May Days in O'Fallon, the event is rescheduled for this coming Saturday, May 11.  May Days Festival is a family event held at the Boardwalk at Marketplace in WingHaven.  Parents can get to know local business owners by stopping by booths for free giveaways and children can enjoy bounce houses, face painting, games, clowns and live-music.  Also in the entertainment line up:

Plans Approved to Construct Kiddie Academy Daycare in WingHaven

Concord Properties, LLC plans to develop two vacant lots in Lakeside Shoppes, located at 3002 Winghaven Blvd.

A new daycare is heading to O'Fallon.  The O'Fallon City Council approved a conditional use permit (CUP) for Concord Properties, LLC on Thursday for two vacant lots in Lakeside Shoppes, located at 3002 Winghaven Blvd., to develop a childcare center called Kiddie Academy.  A public comment regarding the conditional use permit was held during the Thursday, Jan. 3. O'Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. No residents came forward to speak for or against the item.   According to the planning and zoning commission report, Kiddie Academy would accomodate 150 students and 12 employees.  O'Fallon Patch will update as more information is available.

The planning and zoning commission approved a recommendation to the O'Fallon City Council regarding the CUP at the January meeting.

Mercy Clinic Set to Open in O'Fallon in Spring 2013

The clinic will feature lab and x-ray services, as well as pedatricians and adult primary doctors' offices.

Mercy broke ground on a new 16,500-square-foot facility in O'Fallon earlier this week.  The new building is expected to be complete in the spring of 2013 and will be located near WingHaven at 2223 Technology Dr.  The Mercy Clinic will feature lab and x-ray services, as well as pedatricians and adult primary doctors' offices.  “We want to make health care more convenient, and closer, for our patients in St. Charles County,” Donn Sorensen, Mercy East region president, said in a news release.  In 2011, Mercy announced plans to spend $2.4 billion on new facilities in St. Charles County and Chesterfield over the next eight years.  Mercy opened an outpatient center at 1820 Zumbehl Rd. in St. Charles in September. O'Fallon Council Approves Air Evac Lifeteam Distribution Center in WingHaven

The distribution center will sit adjacent from the new headquarters in a vacant building at 7321 Village Centre Dr.

O'Fallon City Council approved a permit to allow Air Evac Lifeteam to bring its proposed distribution center close to the new headquarters in WingHaven.  Air Evac Lifeteam announced in June that the company planned to move its headquarters from West Plains, MO to O’Fallon.  The company provides medical transportation to rural communities, flying critically ill or injured patients to hospitals in 15 states. The company plans to occupy its new O’Fallon headquarters at 1001 Boardwalk Springs Place, by mid-October, bringing nearly 120 new jobs to the area. Powers Family Healthmart Pharmacy Now Open in O'Fallon

The family-owned pharmacy is located at 7776 WingHaven Boulevard.

A new family-owned pharmacy opened this month in O'Fallon. Powers Healthmart Pharmacy is located at 7776 Winghaven Blvd., O'Fallon. "We want to promote people's health and get people healthy with diet, exercise and lifestyle changes," Pharmacist Randy Powers told O'Fallon Patch. The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is closed on Sunday.
