O'Fallon Bread Company Could Soon Add Drive-Thru

The O'Fallon City Council will hear the first reading of a bill that would grant a conditional use permit (CUP) for the construction.

If you've been to the O'Fallon Bread Company at 1300 Highway K around lunchtime, you've probably seen the long lines and crowded parking lot.  To eliminate some of the parking issues, property owners have submitted a request for a conditional use permit (CUP) to add a drive-thru to the restaurant. The O'Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission approved a recommendation for the CUP to the O'Fallon City Council, which will give first reading to the bill at Thursday evening's meeting.  According to the Planning and Zoning Commission report, city staff has received complaints from residents and businesses regarding the lack of parking within O'Fallon Pointe Centre. The report states that if approved, twelve spaces will be removed for the proposed…

Miss Lanham, thanks for not reporting all of the facts and testimony at the Public Hearing for the Project before the City Council. You mention not one item that I testified at the public Hearing. Where are your Journalistic Ethics in fairness and reporting both sides of an issue? It is not fair to the public and not fair to the community. Shame on the Patch!   more ›

Customers 'Pay it Forward' at Heaven Scent Bakery Drive-Thru in O'Fallon

Last weekend, in a random act of kindness, six cars of customers paid for the orders of the people behind them.

It's the season of giving and that's exactly what some customers did at Heaven Scent Bakery on Sunday afternoon.  According to the bakery located at 133 Bryan Rd, O'Fallon, they saw some "real life angels" in the drive-thru that afternoon.  The Heaven Scent Facebook page states: "A woman and her little girl asked to pay for the order of the car behind them. The lady whose order was paid for in turn paid for the car behind her. This carried on, over and over, for 6 cars.... Way to "Pay it Forward"!!" Other Heaven Scent Bakery fans commented about the random act of kindness on the business Facebook page:  Mike Arnold: Had a friend post earlier in the week that she was part of the chain. Heaven Scent inspires angelic behavior! Gennie Gaudet …

Burger King Is the Worst When It Comes to Drive-Thrus, Study Shows

A new study out by QSR Magazine rates restaurants based on their drive-thru quality. Wendy's and Chick-fil-A came in as the best while Burger King got poor marks across the board.

If you've driven through a Wendy's drive-thru recently, you've been graced with some of the best rate of service and accuracy in the business.  That's according to a new stidy from QSR Magazine, which unveiled its annual drive-thru study on Tuesday. According to the magazine, the study determines the leading restaurant chains in several categories of drive-thru operations, such as wait time, service time, order accuracy, exterior appearance and speaker clarity. A group of six core chains were included in the study: Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Krystal, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Wendy’s.  Restaurants were visited between the lunch hours of 11 am and 2:30 pm, and between the dinner hours of 4 pm and 7 pm. The findings may surprise those that …

I don't know about all the Burger Kings but I know the ones that are owned by JRG Management are that bad due to the owners cutting out vacations, cutting saleries, longer working hours and less people working in the stores. Now the children of the owners never received any cuts in pay, and they continue to get all their paid vacations they even hire daughter-in-laws and lay off committed …   more ›
