Three people face heroin dealing charges after St. Charles County Drug Task Force detectives searched a home in the 100 block of Westgate Drive Feb. 7 in St. Peters. Three people were charged with distributing a controlled substance after detectives found heroin and drug-related items in the home: Kearbey and Stever were charged Feb. 8. Salyers was charged Feb. 11. Drug Task Force members said they executed a search warrant on the home and found capsules containing heroin, cut straws, a grinder with heroin residue, empty capsules with heroin residue and baggies. A St. Charles County Drug Task Force investigation found a stash of drugs in the woman's floor vent several months after she sold meth to an undercover officer.
A O’Fallon woman was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury Friday on eight drug charges. The woman, Lisa Ann Ray, 44, was indicted on two counts of distributing a controlled substance, five counts of possessing a controlled substance and possessing drug-related items. St. Charles County Drug Task Force detectives said Ray sold methamphetamine to an undercover officer June 7 at 281 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters. Detectives searched her home in the first block of Green Tree Lane in O’Fallon Sept. 11 and said they found several items hidden in a bag inside a floor vent. A man faces drug and handgun charges after the St. Charles County Drug Task Force searched his St. Charles County home near O’Fallon, police said. Brian Whaley, 36, of the first block of Laura Drive in St. Charles County near O’Fallon, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of handguns. A Drug Task Force detective said Whaley had been under investigation by the drug task force, which executed a search warrant on his home Nov. 20. Acccording to court documents, the search discovered eight foil devices used to smoke methamphetamine and eight handguns. Zephrex-D, a new decongestant that its manufacturer and St. Louis area drug agents say cannot be converted into methamphetamine, is set to hit St. Louis pharmacies this month. As previously reported by Patch, Zephrex D is expected to be available in St. Louis area pharmacies in November. Since its maker and drug agents say it cannot be converted into meth, it will also be sold without a prescription in some counties that have recently passed ordinances requiring a prescription to purchasepseudoephedrine products like Claritin-D and Allegra-D. A new decongestant set to hit St. Louis area pharmacies in November is gaining support from drug agents in the fight against methamphetamine. In an effort to fight methamphetamine, Missouri cities and counties, although not St. Louis County, are passing ordinances requiring prescriptions to purchase pseudoephedrine products like Claritin-D and Allegra-D. An O’Fallon woman was charged Thursday with possessing pseudoephedrine with intent to make methamphetamine. A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy stopped Nicole Barton, 32, of the 400 block of Eastbrook in O’Fallon, for a traffic violation Wednesday on Feise Road near Winterset Hollow Court. The deputy saw two pseudoephedrine blister packages in the car, according to a report. A check of Barton’s pseudoephedrine purchase history showed 34 purchases and two attempts that were blocked because she exceeded the legal limit. Bond was set at $35,000, cash only.
