Three Injured in Multi-Car Crash

The crash took place just before 4 p.m. on Interstate 70 in St. Peters.

Three people were injured in a three-car crash Thursday afternoon in St. Peters.  According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two cars were stopped for traffic ahead on westbound Interstate 70 just east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive just before 4 p.m.. A third vehicle, a 2011 Ford F-250 driven by Gary Sexton, 51, of St. Peters, failed to stop and struck the rear of another vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet F-150 driven by James R. Todd, 27, of O'Fallon. The impact of the crash caused Todd's truck to collide with the first car, a 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Timothy S. Jackson, 22, of St. Charles.  Sexton and Todd were uninjured in the crash and both were able to drive their vehicles from the scene.  Jackson and two passengers …

Two Teens Charged After Stealing Prescription Medication

Alex Michael Stigall, 18, of St. Peters, and Jermel Ramonte Higgins, 18, of St. Charles, were arrested after police say the stole medication from a victim's hand as she was leaving an O'Fallon store.

Two teens were arrested by O'Fallon Police for stealing medication from a person at in the 1300 block of Highway K. According to a release from the O'Fallon Police Department, Alex Michael Stigall, 18, of St. Peters, and Jermel Ramonte Higgins, 18, of St. Charles, were arrested after police say the stole medication from a victim's hand just before 5 p.m. on May 8. Police said the two teens sat in the store listening to customers fill prescriptions so they could steal medication.  Police said the two teens followed the victim out of the store and one of the subjects ripped the medication from her hand and ran toward a car.  The St Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Stigall, for Physically Take Property …

Fort Zumwalt Voters Pass Bond Issue

Passing Proposition 1, a no-tax increase bond issue, would allow Zumwalt to borrow $15,000,000 for building improvements.

Voters in the Fort Zumwalt school district area didn't have any open seats on the school board to decide after only two candidates filed to run for the two open spots. Despite not having a school board race, voters did have to decide on a bond issue.  Passing Proposition 1, a no-tax increase bond issue, allows Zumwalt to borrow $15,000,000 for the purpose of constructing, repairing, improving, extending, renovating, purchasing, furnishing, and equipping schoolhouse sites, buildings, grounds and related facilities for school purposes. The voters decided to pass the proposition with a 6,300 (64.10 percent) to 3,528 (35.90 percent) vote.

St. Joseph Cottleville Church Charity Treasurer Sentenced For Embezzlement of Donor Funds

St. Peters resident Nancy O'Donnell, 53, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for her embezzlement of donor funds.

Nancy O’Donnell, the former treasurer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for embezzlement of donor funds. O’Donnell was also ordered to pay $209,000 in restitution, $192,000 of which has already been paid.  O'Donnell, 53, of St. Peters, pleaded guilty to one felony count of mail fraud before United States District Judge John A. Ross in October. Mail fraud carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000. As former treasurer, admitted on Wednesday to setting up a false bank account to take donations intended for the charity for her own personal use. O'Donnell told the court she created a second bank account…

'We Just Want Her Home': Family Waiting to Hear from Missing Girl

The family of 16-year-old Molly Lindhardt hasn't heard from the missing girl since Monday.

The family of Molly Linhardt just wants to know shes OK and want her back. Nearly two days after Linhardt was last seen, her family still hasn't heard from the missing 16-year-old. Her grandmother, Shirley Schrier, 72, came to St. Peters from her home in Lansing, Mich., to help bring Linhardt back home.  "We just want her home," Shirley Schrier said through tears, "She needs to be here, with her family." Linhardt was last last seen on Monday, Jan. 14. St. Peters Police said that Linhardt was reported missing at around 7 p.m. Earlier that day her father dropped her off for work at Kentucky Fried Chicken, however, he later found out she was not scheduled to work.  Police believe Linhardt is with 27-year-old Benjamin Kinkade. St. Peters …

Fort Zumwalt School District will not hold an election for the board of education this year.  Two candidates filed for two open seats on the board. The terms of Scott Grasser and Carol Russell end in April.  Nancy Coleman from Fort Zumwalt Administrative Services, said Mike Swaringim and Scott Grasser will be sworn in at the April 15 board of education meeting.  Swaringim served on the Fort Zumwalt Board of Education from 1999 until his defeat in the 2011 election. He served as board president at various times throughout his terms. According to the district website, Grasser has served on the board since 2004.  Fort Zumwalt School board members serve three-year terms.
