Teen Targeted Elderly With Drugs to Feed Prescription Habit

O'Fallon Police said Alex Stigall and Jermel Higgins worked together to identify an older person getting a prescription they wanted, and Stigall grabbed the medication in the O'Fallon Walmart parking lot.

Two teens worked together to grab a prescription from a 69-year-old woman after she left the Walmart pharmacy in O’Fallon. Patch reported earlier that Alex Michael Stigall, 18, of the 4000 block of Southridge Drive in St. Peters, and Jermel Higgins, 18, of the 300 block of San Juan Drive in St. Charles, were charged Thursday for physically taking property from a victim. O’Fallon Police said Stigall and Higgins sat in the Walmart pharmacy at 1307 Highway K, and Higgins pointed out a woman who was getting a prescription they wanted. Stigall followed her out to the parking lot, came up behind her, ripped the bag out of the 69-year-old woman’s hands and ran off towards his car, police said. Man Stole $12,800 in Items From Mom's House to Support Heroin Habit, Police Say

Richard Price also faces a theft charge after O'Fallon Police stopped him as he fled Walmart with stolen item, according to a court document.

A man is accused of stealing approximately $12,837 in electronics, jewelry, golf clubs and other items from his mother’s home in O’Fallon. Police said he falsely reported a burglary at the house. Richard Price, 22, of the 100 block of Wake Forest Drive in O’Fallon, was charged Thursday with felony theft. O’Fallon Police said Price stole the items between Feb. 18 and March 17 and then falsely reported a burglary at the house. According to a court document, Price told police he sold the items to a pawnshop so he could support his heroin addiction. Price also was charged Thursday with stealing two televisions from the O’Fallon Walmart, 1309 Highway K. He was stopped by O’Fallon Police before he left the parking lot. A car search found two Blu…

Man Throws Liquor Bottles at Cop, Police Say

The man stole the liquor from an O'Fallon Walmart on the same day that he contacted a woman in violation of a court order, according to court documents.

A man accused of twice violating a protection order also faces criminal charges for stealing two bottles of liquor and throwing them at a police officer who pursued him, police said. He stole the liquor bottles from the O’Fallon Walmart and threw them at the officer on the same day he violated the protection order, according to court documents. Chad McCormick, 39, was charged Jan. 4 with two counts of violating an order of protection, once on Aug. 31 and again on Sept. 26. McCormick also was charged Feb 7 with misdemeanor theft, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest on Sept. 26. His last known address was listed as the Economy Inn, 1390 Continental Drive in Wentzville. O’Fallon Police said McCormick called a woman’s home phone and …

Man Put on Probation For Burglary Steals Boots 13 Days Later, Police Say

The 18-year-old man was charged with his third stealing offense within two years.

Two weeks after pleading guilty to a burglary and theft, an 18-year-old man faces a criminal charge of stealing boots from Kohl’s department store in O’Fallon Sunday. Brian Chappel, 18, of the first block of East O’Fallon Drive in O’Fallon, was charged Monday with stealing as a third offense. If he’s found guilty, it would be Chappel's third stealing conviction within two years. O’Fallon Police said Chappel went into Kohl’s wearing athletic shoes, but changed into boots in the shoe department. He left his shoes on the shelf and walked out wearing the boots without paying for them, police said. He was stopped by a store security guard. Police said Chappel refused to stand and walk out to the squad car, so he was carried to the vehicle. …
