The former Fort Zumwalt West Jaguar is hoping to make it to the NFL.
Fort Zumwalt West graduate T.J. Moe is participating in the NFL Scouting Combine over the next 4 days (2/23-2/26) in Indianapolis. Moe has spent the past 4 seasons as a key player for the Mizzou Tigers, where, this past season, he caught 40 passes for 399 yards and one touchdown. In his 4 years at Mizzou, Moe was just 12 catches shy of the 200 mark. He had 2101 yards and 11 touchdowns. On the Columbia Daily Tribune, Moe has been keeping an inline diary of his preparations for the NFL: On New Year's Day, my dad and I made the 17-hour drive from my hometown of O'Fallon to Naples, Fla., where I have spent most of the last six weeks. I'm training with a group of 15 guys from across the country. When I first arrived, I was feeling a little …

Timberland advances to play Troy Buchanan on Wednesday in district semifinals.
Four periods couldn't decide it. Neither could five. The Timberland High School boys basketball team fought tooth and nail with Fort Zumwalt West Monday evening through four quarters and two overtimes. Ultimately, the Timberwolves outlasted the Jaguars in an exciting 64-60 double-overtime win that opened the Class 5, District 6 Missouri State High School Activities Association playoffs. Four Timberland players scored in the double digits, including Andrew Jehle, who turned in a 15 point performance to help lead the Timberwolves (7-17) on to the second round of the district tournament against Troy Buchanan, which had a first-round bye. Zumwalt West's Kory Tennant led all shooters in scoring with 24 points. But the Jaguars (10-16) shot …

Check out how students of all ages are giving back through holiday collections and drives sponsored by their schools.
See how students and staff in the Fort Zumwalt School District are giving back this holiday season. Dardenne Elementary’s faculty staff and students are participating in a giving tree program. The donations are going to St. Joaquim and Ann Church as part of their adopt a family program. This collections ends on Dec. 8. Ostmann Elementary's student council ran a canned food drive in November and collected over 2,400 non-perishable goods to donate to HOPE Ministries in time for Thanksgiving. "We have done these things every holiday season since we opened our school in 2002. It helps our students to really internalize the true meaning of altruism, responsibility and act of giving by actually 'doing,'" said Dr. Gregg S. Sartorius, …

Event runs from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at all four Fort Zumwalt High Schools.
Parents are invited to bring pre-school and elementary school age ghosts and goblins out for some family fun at Fort Zumwalt School District’s annual Safe Halloween event this week. Kids will have the chance to put on their costumes, enjoy games, face painting, treats and more free of charge from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at all four local high schools: Zumwalt North, South, East and West. “We’ve done Safe Halloween for many, many years,” Superintendent Bernard DuBray said. “It’s a kid friendly event that the leadership students at the high school and middle schools help put on.” Middle and high school students in the district’s Positive Peer Influence (PPI) program have teamed up with teachers to run booths and decorate the high …
