Abby Buckles is a senior at Lindenwood University of St. Charles. After much hard work and careful planning, she will be able to graduate in May of 2011, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in journalism within three short years.
Writing has always been a priority in her life. Throughout high school, she attended Lutheran High of St. Charles writing for the school's newspaper The Paws. Junior year, she became a Staff Writer for the publication as well as a graphic designer of several spreads for the school's yearbook. Senior year she was named both Senior Writer and Editor of Design of both publications. Once it came time to walk at graduation in 2008, she was thoroughly convinced writing was her calling.
After quickly declaring journalism as her major in 2008, she began taking photographs and writing news, editorial and entertainment pieces for her university's newspaper The Legacy as a Contributing Writer. Sophomore year she was given the title Staff Reporter and last semester was named Assistant Entertainment Editor.
In addition to continuing her work on the Legacy staff, in the fall of 2010, she began writing for O'Fallon Patch where she covers the latest buzz in the entertainment world, various happenings around town, bi-weekly feature pieces on locals and more.
Other publications she's written for include a newsletter for Supervalu Distribution Center of St. Louis as well as multiple stories on Lindenwood's news site, LindenLink.com.
In her free time she enjoys catching up on her blog Just Juice, jamming to alternative rock music, curling up with a good movie, catching up with her friends and planning for her upcoming wedding in July.
