Registration Open for Pirate Treasure Hunt in Fort Zumwalt Park

Young buccaneers can enjoy pirate activities and look for buried treasure in Fort Zumwalt Park on September 14.

The Pirate Treasure Hunt on September 14 will give young swashbucklers the chance to enjoy fun activities and look for “treasure” hidden in Fort Zumwalt Park.

But they'd better sign up by August 23, or the ship will leave port without them.

The event, which is for ages 5 and up, will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 14.

Starting with the first clue, participants will proceed to one of six stations and complete an activity such as “Bail the Boat,” “Walk the Plank” “Navigate the Ship,” and “Hook the Treasure” to receive a clue to the location of the next station, and a puzzle piece.

When all the puzzle pieces are assembled they will provide the final clue showing where to dig for buried treasure.

The cost of the Pirate Treasure Hunt is $6 for residents, $8 for non-residents, and free to kids ages 4 and under with a paying adult.

The Parks Department hopes that families sign up soon to keep the activity from being cancelled due to low registration. For more information about the event, contact Tourism and Festivals Assistant Erin Cooper atfestivalassistant@ofallon.mo.us or call 636-379-5574.
