Progress West HealthCare Center Becomes Progress West Hospital

Patients had expressed confusion about the term "healthcare center."

O'Fallon's Progress West HealthCare Center announced that it is changing its name to Progress West Hospital.

The hospital, near the intersection of I-64 and Hwy. K, said in a press release that the name change is meant to reflect the "essential services it provides to our community."

“Over the past year, we’ve been conducting extensive market research in St. Charles County,” says Barbara McLaurine, manager, marketing and communications.

“Consumers and patients expressed their confusion regarding the term ‘healthcare center’ and voiced their understanding that ‘hospitals’ are full-service, treat more serious needs, have emergency departments, and are where you go for surgery or treatment."

McLaurine said that Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital share a close connection and work as a team to provides services and make health care more convenient for patients.

Soon, a new co-branded logo will reflect that partnership.

“Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West are both part of BJC HealthCare,” says McLaurine.  “We continue to work toward making medicine better in St. Charles County. We want to make it clear to consumers that quality BJC care is here in St. Charles County.”
