O'Fallon Police Announce Sobriety Checkpoint

The checkpoints will be held over the next two weekends, police say.

In a press release Thursday, the O'Fallon Police Department announced that a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted over the next two weekends.

The checkpoint will target areas with the highest alcohol-related traffic crashes, the press release stated, with the hope of reducing the number of crashes.

"Motorists passing through the checkpoint should experience only a minimal delay while speaking to officers on the dangers of drinking and driving. The department would like to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of the City of O'Fallon and St. Charles County for their support and cooperation," the release stated.

Any citizens with questions can contact Sgt. Kevin Barron, 636-379-5465.
