Candidate Questions

1. What is your primary reason for running?
To keep O’Fallon an Outstanding Place in America to live through lowering taxes, upgrading our Public Safety resources at no cost to the City and keeping our streets from falling into disrepair.

2. What is single most important priority if you are elected?
Taxes and Public Safety. I will work to repeal the 50% pay increase for elected officials and make sure our tax dollars cover community needs not special needs like TIF or Tax Abatements. My history of Public Safety service will insure our Police needs are never forgotten.

3. What is your favorite thing about O’Fallon?
The people. We have great citizens who have invested a great deal in our city by living here, buying here, schooling here, working here and playing here. Government is not attracting the businesses and developing the land in a fiscally responsible manner consistent with keeping our property values high, our neighborhoods valuable and our citizens opportunities to raise families to fulfill their American Dreams

4. What is the biggest problem you see in O’Fallon?
We have elected officials who have been in office for over 15 years. Thats more than enough time to fix the problems. Yet there are no solutions, only excuses as to why this or that can’t be done. Do our citizens really need to keep electing the same people to office who promise to fix the problems...the problems they created? We have not seen tax decreases but we have seen pay increases for our City Officials.

5. What is your vision for O’Fallon?
A city that when you tell your family, friends and co-workers you live in O’Fallon they say ‘that’s a great city to live in’ and we proudly smile.

6. Why do you think you have the qualities more than your opponent?
My opponent Bill Hennessy has been a friend of mine and this election is hard for me, but it is not about the person, it’s about serving O’Fallon.  After 15 years of being an elected official and all we keep hearing about are the same problems…traffic, builders, taxes, public safety…and nothing has been done to fix them. We live our lives by fixing problems, by not spending more than we make, by not kicking the can down the road on difficult issues. Why should our government officials be able to so these things? I have a proven record of fixing problems, of fixing problems in a fair and impartial manner and giving answers that are straightforward. We are missing that in our Mayor and I want our residents to be able say We have a Mayor of action' and not words.
