O'Fallon Rezones Site on Sommers Road and Hwy. DD to Single-Family
The site is currently under contract to Lombardo Homes.
After a nod from P&Z, the O'Fallon City Council has passed an ordinance to rezone a parcel of land on the northwest corner of Highway DD and Sommers Road.
The parcel, previously zoned General Business District and Apartment House District, was rezoned to Single Family Residential at the Council's Feb. 28 regular meeting.
The Planning and Zoning Commission stated that the rezoning would "reduce the density of development that could occur." The site, which is surrounded by a mix of residential and institutional uses, shouldn't be negatively impacted by the change, the commission reported.
